Undredal by summer
The sound of nature is all around you in Undredal, waterfalls and rivers running, birds singing and chances are you will meet goats on your way! Make sure to watch the milkmaid making fresh cheese, and you won’t regret tasting it!
We arrange tours in the surrounding areas, and can guide you along the trails going up the mountain sides. Our guide will offer unique, local stories and old Norwegian folk-songs. A big part of Norwegian folklore is the trolls, and their natural habitat is the mountains. Fortunately they only come out at night as they turn to stone in bright sunlight, so be aware after dark::) We love to share these fairytales with our guests!
Starting summer of 2019 we will offer nights in a lavvo(traditional Lapp-hut) at the highest peak above Undredal, accompanied by a private guide. Spectacular view, local food, fireplace stories and a hike to Stigen, a farm situated high up on the mountain.
Undredal by winter
Welcome to Winter Wonderland! We will guide you to this quaint old village 6 km from Undredal. The ground being covered in snow, we will make our way by snowshoes to a nice outside fireplace. Surrounded by white, steep mountainsides, it is quite an adventure. Old folktales will say that singing makes the trolls and other creatures of nature come out, and we love to challenge them to do so!
This is also the area which inspired scenes in Disney’s “Frozen”, and seeing it makes you understand why.
